Council On Aging Photo Print Project November 2022

The Council On Aging, headquartered in Bend, Oregon, USA, contacted me about a building renovation project that was underway. The building serves as a gathering place for seniors from Crook, Deschutes & Jefferson county in Oregon, USA. A variety of social, consultation and in-person services would be provided in the building.

I met with the Executive Director and the Designer. The goal was to purchase and display photos prints from the tri-county area to enhance the in-person visitor experience.

Here’s is how I managed the project.

  • I met with the decision-makers. We discussed the project objective. I discussed print format, style and finish options. Samples were reviewed.

  • Together we walked the building and discussed photo print locations and approximate sizes.

  • I curated a set of images into a private digital portfolio to match the client’s parameters. An access link was provided to the decision-makers. Several sub-portfolios were also created to match specific print size needs.

  • The client made a decision about print format and style and agreed to move the project forward.

  • A soft quote was developed and a matrix that specified print location, size, and cost with subtotals was provided. The quote was reviewed, changes were made and a final updated bid was provided. The client agreed to move the project to the authorization stage.

  • Images were selected, and prints were ordered.

  • Prints were delivered to the building and checked against the spreadsheet for number and size.

  • The prints were unwrapped, checked for quality and hung with my assistance.

The project included twenty eight frameless aluminum photo prints. Included here are photos of the photos taken after the installation.

Client reference upon request.
